All Wendy could do was just shoot bolts of magic from her pendant.

Now, we're making sure that she has more to do! It kinda sucked that Wendy was being treated as the character who the player should be when we don't want them to be able to go anywhere, so we're adding new abilities that her pendant can help her perform in specific contexts! She may not have the universal versatility of Izzy's powerful ramming attack or Rosa's double jump, but when all else fails Wendy might just be up for the job in ways you didn't expect.

...But she doesn't particularly enjoy it.
